Gorgeous Winter Time Lapse Video Shows Beauty of Sub-Zero Landscapes
This is one of the best time-lapse videos I've seen in a while. It shows night scenes of a reeeeeally cold winter in South Dakota, but sometimes these frozen landscapes are the most photogenic. The video pans over the stumps of a corn field, an abandoned playground, and shows skies that are so crystal clear you can seriously feel the crispness of the air. Check out the full video after the jump.
The photography is done by Randy Halverson who has a whole range of incredible time-lapse projects at Dakota Lapse.
Bad Astronomy writes, "Each picture was an exposure of several seconds, and in some, like the ones with the playground in the foreground, you see the blurring of terrestrial objects from the wind...you can see animals moving in and out of the attic on the right side of the house in the playground shot."
Creeepy.
But really, the video is gorgeous -- it looks almost computer generated.
